We updated everything we possibly could....updated mobo, bios, sound drivers, video drivers....and that didn't help. We checked the ingame settings and video card settings, changed a few and it didn't help. Why should I switch out the ps, when I took it to a local computer store and had it checked, and it was fine. We checked the windows event log, and there is nothing there. For some reason, windows is not recording the error. Did a defrag. But not a chkdsk...what's that?
We each have our own account. It's not a heat problem. Because we have been keeping an eye on that and our system is running cool. I have noticed that this problem only happens with the new maps on COD4. For the past couple days, I have been going to the same server, that stays on one map, and my system didn't reboot or shutdown once. But when me or my husband go to a server where the map changes after each round, when it gets to certain maps, it reboots or shutsdown. One map I can think of that causes this to happen everytime we try to play it is Creek. There are a couple others, but I can think of them right now.

The rebooting is adding stress to your system which could cause other things to go out, like the motherboard so keep trying.

I asked the local computer store if it would cause any other problems with our system and they told me no. Not unless there are other programs running while we are playing COD4. So that is not true???
Also I don't think it is a problem with my pc. Because the only time it reboots or shutsdown on us like that is while we are playing COD4. We also play AA and it works fine. So, it has to be some simple setting that we are over looking that is causing it to do this while playing COD4.
