First of all, i am going to prove i've bought the game legally.



And now to the real thing.

I have recently(a day ago) reinstalled the CoD4 and patched it up to 1.7. I could join some servers, but i took a 30 minute break and came again and "wth", key code in use? this has continued since yesterday, and hasnt still stopped. Can you explain what is it? Thanks in advance, im pretty freaked out thinking someone has found my key code

did you download any software that you may not trust very well, it may have a cd-key stealer with it..
thats the only way im aware that you can loose your key.
try a reinstall maybe?

I haven't downloaded anything CoD4 related or close to it. I dunno whats wrong :/

Go into Multiplayer options and look which CDkey is being used, is it exactly your retailversion? If not, change it.

Otherwise reinstall the game and be sure to copy your mpdata file located in
C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4\players\profiles\(yourprofilenamegoeshere)

It seems more like it's stolen by a kiddie who downloaded cod4 from the webs, because:

- I can play now freely when when there's daytime in my country
- Key code gets in use at approx 7-10pm my time everyday
- I usually go to sleep at 2am, and would like to play COD before that, but i can only play single player because the key is still in use at 1am.

I guess i can't do nothing with it, if you know ideas then please post, because i think this is annoying.

Try contactin Infinity Ward or Activision.
Give them proof you bought the retail with the original key. Then maybe they can help you out.
Damn keystealers, why can't they buy a key like most people have to?

I recently bought a retailversion of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare,
I very much enjoy playing the game. But when I try to play online, something strange is happening. It seems like at given times someone else is using the keycode. So I can't connect to the servers. I have a legit keycode and I would like to know if there is a possibility to check wether or not someone else is using my Key.
In attachement you can find the proof I have the original Key and gamebox.

Now, give them as much info as you can, so a scan of the keycode, a proof of purchase (scan it or something), heck, you can even put in a picture of yourself holding the box and the manual with the keycode.

Be sure to send it to the right email adress, I don't have time too look it up no, but i trust you will find it.

Okay thanks 7even! Too bad though... I've lost the original box and i don't have a scanner... the serial code is in the CD- holder thing though, so all i need to do is take a picture of it and the cd thing?

Try to get as much info as you can, make copies of everything. And take pictures of it. Sent it to them in the mail. Oh defenetly try adding the proof of purchase!!! If you still have it.
