Default help required with playing cod over a LAN
if i buy one copy of COD can i use it over multiple pc's in our office to play over our LAN or do we have to buy a copy for each pc?

Yes, sharing one COD installation over a network is possible.
Just copy the folder to the PCs or make it a network drive so that everyone can access it.

this will work, but if you want to do it with other games it gets a little bit more complicated, you have to copy cracks and the game itsself to a disc (you could call this illegal) and then you have to install the copy to the other computers
