I recently had this same problem with the map "Broadcast" until I un-installed and re-installed the 1.6 patch. However, once doing so, now the map Creek does this and Broadcast works just fine...

What happens is when a server switches to the map "Creek", the map loads 25% and then freezes. An audible "ting" noise is heard and the only way to get out is hitting escape. That then closes me straight to my desktop and the game is gone. Any help please would be great!

do you get any kind of error, or a black area on the screen where the resolution changed?

The game locks up on about 25% of the map load. I have to CNTL ALT DEL to get to task manager to turn off the locked game. I get an error but I am unable to select the window. Once you force the game off the error goes away. Any ideas?

I have the same problem with a few different maps. Run the game in safe mode and you will be able to view the error, its something along the lines of a map file being corrupt if i remember correct, i still haven't found a fix other than avoiding the two maps causing me problems.

yea, i had that problem, a simple reinstall should fix
dont forget to backup the profiles
and you should be set..

in truth, i had to reinstall it like 5 times in a row before it worked.

it was really lame.
