Dammit, it's the damn mounties again...

pisses me of that i just bought the game..the sealing was intact and the first error i get is that i cannot install the game with the key i have. When i finaly get around that using another key i found on the net and patch the game and punkbuster up and go into multiplayer and before doing anything else changes my key back to the original which i purchased and it verifies it i get the KEY IN USE error whenever i try and connect to a server :S.. i am clueless on what to do next?

I often have this problem, the only solution that works for me is to leave it for 30 minutes. It always works for me. Go and play some sports or make your mum a cup of tea or something whilst you're waiting.

The key code/CD key is the thing which you enter when you install it. It can be found on the back of the instruction booklet in your Call of Duty 4 case (Europe, not sure about other places).
You can also change your key code in-game by going to Options -> Multiplayer Options -> Enter Key Code, entering your key and pressing verify.
