This forum is hardly used, and the people who do use it aren't very good "artists." I'm not trying to be mean, but a lot of the signatures and other such things that come from these posts are very, very, very sub par... I'm going to school for graphic design and whenever I get the chance I'll upload some tutorials of some pretty basic signatures. I hope that with everyone's cooperation and help we can make this forum a great place for gfx people to come!

I've competed in sig battles, made many larger pieces, and have quite a few forum signatures under my belt. I've been called a "guru" before and I know A LOT about photoshop. If you have any questions at all PLEASE pm me or post here... this is gonna be a FAQ topic!
Vampy, I would like to see some of your work, I'm not a pro at sigs, but I think BlackHawk's are pretty damn good for amatuer work. By the way Black, where;s mine? LOL
unfortunately I'm not trying to brag or offend anyone but the skill level is that of someone brand new to photoshop. Tutorials are meant to inspire and teach people new techniques and ways to do things. They are not to be followed verbatim, but merely to be applie to many different techniques.
Also, a SOTW (Sig of the Week) competition would be GREAT! If you need help setting it up and running it I can help. I've run many SOTW competitions on other sites!
I see no flow with that signature, I dont want to start a flaming war but at the end of the day, signatures are an art. Art is opinional, bellis likes my work, you dont...maybe you are more advanced with photoshop than I am, I'll hold my hands up, I am certainly no pro with photoshop, but in my opinion, that sig you just made is no where near a semi-pro rating.
It is monotone and has no colouring, even if it is greyscale you should still use levelling to increase depth of field. Also, your render isn't blended very well and you haven't got a border.
See, its easy to criticise someones work but unless you're going to help them its pointless.
